I actually read an article on this, this morning...

Anyway, the movie posters and the trailers were made to attract an audience that didn't all ready know the story. If you notice, the main preview has just about every action sequence from the movie. The studio all ready planned on an audience of people who read the book. The posters and trailers were made to look like a horror/action movie to attract a different group of people to the movie as well.Twilight movie question! It's called Marketing. The movie itself can explain why these vampires are not like traditional movie vampires, but the poster can't - its job is to attract viewers period.
they want people to come see it. also the actors look better without looking like vampires, so they wanted to make them look better.
They are altered by computers on the poster.
The posters always look better than the film.
all hollywood movie/poster magic love.
to make the film look darker than it is

and mabye get a bigger audience
To draw attention
idk
